Project 1

In this project, we focused on the wind turbine, specifically, focusing on designing a turbine blade component. I was the coordinator which meant I lead discussions, group work, and was the lead contributor in worksheets and writing. Aside from this, many considerations were made to ensure a final product that would be realistic and reliable. Examples include considering mechanical properties, external factors such as weather, the clients design requirements, and the main focus of what the turbine was being used for. After multiple milestones and checkpoints, we had made many key decisions, including choosing an appropriate material. Software such as Autodesk Inventor were used to simulate stress tests, deflections, and other factors.
